How did we transform two challenging POS implementations in Mainland China into triumphs for two Unilever-owned brands using Cegid in just under three months?

Our two clients, one as a cruelty free beauty brand known for its innovation and commitment to reinventing luxury cosmetics and the other one as a skincare company rooted in Japanese beauty rituals, operate in many stores in Mainland China as of today.

Expanding into a new market is never a straightforward task, especially when the market is as dynamic and fast-paced as China. Our two clients faced this daunting challenge head-on. Their goal was ambitious: to successfully roll out their Point of Sale (POS) system across Mainland China within a tight timeframe. The challenges

Our cosmetic clients encountered several significant challenges as they embarked on their expansion into the Chinese market:

  1. Brand New Market Entry: Being newly launched in China, our two clients did not have well-defined business processes, making the implementation task more complex and unpredictable.
  2. Tight Timeline: The project had to be deployed within an incredibly short span of just four months, demanding meticulous planning and rapid execution.
  3. Integration with Multiple Third-Party Systems: The POS system needed to seamlessly integrate with various third-party systems, including NetSuite, Warehouse Management System (WMS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Business Intelligence (BI) tools, and WeChat Mall.

The Solution

To address these challenges, we devised and executed a comprehensive strategy that included the following key elements:

  1. CEGID Y2 SaaS Platform Implementation: We deployed the CEGID Y2 SaaS platform, ensuring a scalable and flexible POS system suitable for our cosmetic client’s needs.
  2. Stock Management Integration: We implemented a robust stock management system for all boutiques, integrating it seamlessly with the WMS. This integration was crucial for maintaining real-time inventory visibility and control.
  3. Security Controls: To safeguard sensitive information, we established proper security controls for all users, both in the back-office and stores.
  4. Customer Management Integration: We integrated customer management capabilities with Shuyun CRM, enhancing customer relationship management and ensuring personalized service.
  5. E-Commerce Sales Integration: We integrated WeChat Mall’s e-commerce sales data with the POS system, enabling a unified view of sales across all channels.
  6. NetSuite and BI System Integration: To ensure synchronization of master data and sales transactions, we integrated the POS system with NetSuite and BI tools.

  • Unified Sales Data: Integration with WeChat Mall and synchronization with NetSuite and BI systems provided a holistic view of sales data, aiding in strategic decision-making.
