How did we streamline credit card and loan application design for a retail banking in Dubai?

In the competitive landscape of retail banking, providing a seamless and efficient digital experience for customers is essential. As financial institutions continue to innovate, the demand for faster, more intuitive solutions has grown significantly, particularly in the realm of credit card and loan applications. Our client, a leading player in retail banking onboarding, recognized this need and sought to deliver an optimized solution that would set a new standard in the Dubai market. To achieve this, they partnered with VISEO to leverage our expertise in design and user experience, with the goal of transforming their digital offering into one that prioritized speed, ease of use, and customer satisfaction.

Project Context

Our client, a Retail Banking Onboarding Powerhouse, aimed to build a mobile app. and mobile responsive site for credit card and loan applications in Dubai. The value proposition was for users to apply in under 5 minutes and to receive multiple bank offers within 24 hours. Our client solicited the VISEO Design Studio to perform a design audit of their existing design prototype and to propose a new prototype based on the audit.

Project Details

The VISEO Design Team began by evaluating the existing client’s design prototype through the lens of a Heuristic Evaluation. The criteria used for the evaluation was based on Jakob Nielsen’s 10 general principles for interaction design. With the evaluation, the team presented suggestions for changes and proceeded to redesign the interface. The team started with black and white wireframes to illustrate user flows without focusing too much attention on aesthetics. After multiple wireframe iterations, the team managed to define flows for credit card applications and personal loan applications, the first two required flows for the minimum viable product. After the wireframe phase, the team proceeded to build a design prototype, applying the new graphic charter of the brand. The brand recently adopted a new graphic charter, so all components created for the prototype had to be created from scratch and maintain a similar look and feel as the logo. To give stakeholders an idea of what is possible, the team performed a design benchmark to gather ideas. With these ideas, the team completed the design prototype for all main flows in both application and mobile responsive contexts.
